Since this is my first attempt at a Wiki, I am not sure what I want to write here. We are in the middle of the Summer
Technology Academy and I am excited about what is being done. 24 teachers are meeting every day and using blogs and wikis to create new and awesome plans for the upcoming school year. I am amazed by what we have accomplished this week and couldn't be prouder of the teachers I work with each and every day. They are stepping up to the plate and grabbing Web 2.0 by the horns. They are conquering their fears of the unknown and embracing change. We have a broad range of levels as well as of years of teaching experiences. There are first year teachers all the way up to one with 37 years of experience. We have created blogs and podcasts and now we are beginning wikis. We want to put Bristol VA Public Schools on the map as being teachers who challenge our students, who engage our students, and who are preparing our students for a world that is filled with ever changing technologies.
The teachers have created their blogs and will be creating wikis for their classroom use. I, on the other hand, am creating my blog and wiki for teacher use. I hope that the teachers will participate as I post new items here.
